Mindfulness and Body Awareness Practice and Therapy

Mindfulness Practice Improves All Aspects of Life

With my daily practice of Mindfulness, I have personally found an improvement in my overall quality of mood and life. I took time out to certify in the practice of Mindfulness and Deep Awareness  with The Awareness Training Institute associated with the Greater Good Science Center at the University of California, Berkeley. I am very grateful for my teachings, all that I have learned, and most of all, my practice.

Rushing through the day, every single day, can easily overcome our lives and the lives of our children. I find that slowing down, purposefully, a couple of times a day with a sitting meditation or mindfulness technique as well as taking small dips into mindfulness (with things such as mindful breath, dishwashing, play, vacuuming, reading, listening, speaking, feeling, walking, driving or just about anything you do) can drastically improve the overall sense of satisfaction of in day. I am also more aware and alert. Mindfulness promotes increased concentration, performance, enjoyment and brings one out of the worlds of the chattery mind of yesterday and tomorrow.

Mindfulness brings your child into his/her own body at the present moment creating possibility for increased emotional regulation, physical connection, mental agility, alertness and concentration and much more. I love practicing mindfulness with children, teens and young adults. The brains of our young ones are very pliable and gain so much from remaining in the now. They also all do it so very well. Yes, that includes your 3 year old!

Outside of one on one sessions during my regular visits, I also look forward to conducting regular group mindfulness for children as young as 3.5 years old as well as older children and young adults soon.
